Trout CPA is excited to welcome Robert Firely, CPA, CGMA, as a Partner, effective January 6, 2025.
With over 30 years of experience in financial services, Bob brings expertise in audit, accounting, mergers & acquisitions, and financial strategy. His leadership will enhance our ability to provide exceptional service to our clients as we continue to help them achieve success in their businesses and organizations.
Before joining Trout CPA, Bob served as the Senior Vice President at a regional investment banking firm, where he specialized in business sales, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate advisory services. Other career highlights include serving as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at Triose, Inc., where he played a critical role in the company’s successful acquisition by Cencora (formerly AmerisourceBergen) in 2021. Additionally, Bob was a partner at a regional public accounting firm, leading the Audit and Accounting group for over 15 years. In this role, he managed compliance, team education, and engagement performance, while also overseeing a significant client portfolio, including complex M&A engagements.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, he demonstrates a strong commitment to his community and profession, serving on various community and civic boards including United Way of Berks County, Berks County Industrial Development Authority, Penn State Health St. Joseph Hospital, Family Guidance Center, and Helping Harvest. Previously, Bob served as the President of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Chairman of the Board of the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce.
A graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Bob continues to pursue professional development through ongoing education to stay at the forefront of industry best practices. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) and certified global management accountant (CGMA).
Outside of work, Bob enjoys staying active with travel and visiting the beach, as well as spending quality time with his family.
