Trout CPA is thrilled to highlight our relationship with Girls On The Run Lancaster-Lebanon, where several of our professionals recently contributed their time towards coaching, participating, and sponsoring. Through firm sponsorships, charitable giving, and our Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program, we are proud to support a variety of organizations that make a meaningful difference, especially those in the in the communities where our professionals live and work in.
As an annual sponsor of Girls on the Run Lancaster-Lebanon, Trout CPA is proud to support the organization's mission to inspire girls to build confidence, strengthen connections, and develop skills that help them thrive in and beyond the program. Held at several schools and community centers across the Lancaster and Lebanon counties, the organization inspires individuals from 3rd to 5th grade with programs that support a blend of physical activity and life skill development. At the end, participants complete not only a 5K, but a Community Impact Project as well.
A highlight of the spring season was the Spring 5K, an end-of-season celebration for participants, families, coaches, volunteers, and community partners. The event was held at Greenfield, a new ADA-accessible location that helped create a welcoming and inclusive experience for attendees.
"Because of our partners, more than 1,100 girls participated in our spring season across Lancaster County and Lebanon County, supported by more than 300 volunteer coaches who helped guide girls through ten weeks of confidence-building, connection, and growth," said Corinne Foster Horn, Development Director at Girls on the Run Lancaster-Lebanon. "Your support helped make so many meaningful enhancements possible this season and create a space where girls and families felt seen, celebrated, supported, and empowered."
Volunteering Through Trout CPA's Volunteer Time Off (VTO) Program
Trout CPA's VTO program encourages our professionals to support organizations that are meaningful to them by providing up to eight hours per year of paid time off to volunteer at a charity or nonprofit of their choice.
Our involvement with Girls on the Run Lancaster-Lebanon was personal for Erin McGaw, Digital Marketing Manager, who served as a coach within Penn Manor School District through Trout CPA's VTO program. Coaching was an opportunity for her to invest directly in young girls and help create a positive, encouraging space for them to grow.
She sees coaching as a combination of her enjoyment of physical activity and passion for helping build self-confidence in the next generation. The opportunity allowed her to encourage girls as they strengthened friendships, build confidence, and learned important life lessons. Erin described that the VTO program, combined with the firm's flexible work schedule, made it possible for her to leave work at 3pm and arrive at the school in time to volunteer.
"It has been rewarding to get to know the girls and other coaches," said Erin. "I recognize that flexibility and VTO are not offered by every company, so this speaks volumes about Trout's commitment to the community and support of their team members both personally and professionally."
Erin is just one of many Trout CPA professionals who use this program to support causes in their communities. Learn more about Careers at Trout CPA on our website.
