Matt Hartland, CPA, ABV

Matt joined Trout CPA in 2026, bringing more than 20 years of experience helping business owners, executives, and advisors navigate complex financial and strategic decisions. Prior to joining the firm, he held valuation leadership and consulting roles with prominent accounting and advisory organizations, providing guidance on complex business valuation matters for both compliance and strategic planning purposes.

Matt specializes in the valuation of businesses, equity interests, and intangible assets for tax compliance, financial reporting, and management planning. He has led hundreds of valuation engagements for organizations of varying size and complexity, ranging from closely held businesses to large enterprises across a wide range of industries, ownership structures, and growth stages. In addition to valuation services, Matt has assisted clients with financial modeling, litigation support, and other strategic consulting engagements.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), Matt is actively involved in professional education related to valuation and accounting. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Baltimore and is a graduate of Leadership Chester County.

Matt resides in Chester County with his wife and three children. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, serving in his local church, tackling home improvement projects, and staying active through exercise.
