Stabilization Grants Now Available to Eligible Child Care Providers

On September 27, 2021, Governor Wolf announced his plan to distribute 655 Million in American Rescue Plan Funds To Pennsylvania licensed child care providers. Child care providers can apply for the ARPA Stabilization Grant on the Professional Development (PD) Registry webpage by following these instructions. The required reporting will also be completed on this portal. Although applications will be available until Jan. 31, 2022, grants are based on the availability of funds. 

Grant funds can be used at the provider's discretion to 

  • Personnel costs, including for both recruitment and retention efforts, such as sign-on bonuses and pay increases;
  • Operational costs, such as rent or mortgage payments, utilities, maintenance, and insurance;
  • Health and safety costs, such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), cleaning and sanitation supplies, and staff professional development related to health and safety practices;
  • Equipment and supplies;
  • Goods and services necessary to maintain or resume child care services;
  • Mental health services for children and staff; and,
  • Reimbursement for past COVID-19-related expenses incurred after January 31, 2020.
