Stephen D. Kahler, CPA


Stephen D. Kahler, CPA joined Trout, Ebersole & Groff, LLP in 1973 and was admitted as a partner in 1980.

Steve is a graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, magna cum laude. Steve is involved in the areas of audit and other attest services and regulatory compliance, as well as accounting standards implementation and monitoring within the firm. He has extensive experience in the non-profit industry, including initial organization, tax exempt determination filings and unrelated business tax issues.

Steve leads the firm’s Technical Review Department and also serves on the firm’s Quality Control Committee. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Over the years, Steve has served on numerous non-profit Boards and has spoken publicly to banking groups and other professional associations on various topics including the impact of changing accounting standards on financial reporting, and non-profit accounting and compliance issues.
