Brian D. Wassell, CPA


As a Partner, Brian D. Wassell, CPA focuses primarily on tax planning, preparation, entity selection and consulting as well as audit and attest services for individuals, small businesses and non profit organizations. He has extensive experience with early stage entrepreneurial businesses, medical and dental practices, financial services firms, real estate entities, construction, manufacturing and mortgage companies, as well as a variety of small business clients.

Brian joined Trout, Ebersole & Groff, LLP after graduating from Lebanon Valley College (cum laude) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Management. He was admitted as a partner in 1999.

In 2007, Brian was chosen by the Central Penn Business Journal as one of Central Pennsylvania’s 2007 Forty Under 40 award winners. The forty winners are a select group of individuals who have achieved notable success and demonstrated strong leadership both within and outside of their chosen field. Brian was chosen for his commitment to professional excellence and the community.

As a professional, Brian is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Lancaster Estate Planning Council. Brian currently serves on the firm’s Management Committee and also leads the firm’s Marketing Committee.

Brian is active in several local charities, clubs and civic organizations. He currently serves as Treasurer and board member of the Rotary Club of Lancaster and Girls on the Run. Brian is also a past President of Landis Valley Associates and a past board member of Homefields Inc. and Church Capital Investment Trust. He enjoys serving as a volunteer coach of various sports in the Hempfield School District and St. Leo the Great Church sports teams.
